/
For over 40 years, trusted by Ottawa's parents-to-be.

People who took our online class during COVID-19 had this to say:

Given the continued need to physically distance and wear masks, OCEA will continue to offer all classes online throughout 2021.
We dearly want to support the health of our expectant families.

Lilly was an absolute joy! She was very professional, but also included tasteful humour which made the discussions and content very enjoyable. She did a great job of engaging the participants even over Zoom.

Pre Natal – with Lilly Bianchi May 9, 2020

Julia was awesome! Would have loved to do it face to face, but completely understood due to the current climate. It worked well online and was very information.

Pre Natal – with Julia Wykes March 28, 2020

Was very impressed with the educator, delivery, personal stories and experiences and neutral, evidence based opinions and attitude

Bringing Baby Home – with Brandie Lekovic April 10, 2020

Lilly was amazing, she has so much experience to share and tips to give. She makes the entire session super lively and interesting. Barely using any notes makes the whole thing more interactive. We both highly appreciated her and would definitely recommend.

Pre Natal – with Lilly Bianchi March 7, 2020

We liked being able to take the class from the comfort of our own home, yet in an interactive way.

This experience was great! We would definitely recommend this session to others.

Pre Natal – with Julia Wykes March 28, 2020

Brandie is amazing! She is so well educated, so encouraging, kind, empathetic, nonjudgemental. You can tell she truly just wants people to be informed and have the best birthing experience and postpartum journey they can have, whatever that looks like for each couple.

Pre Natal – with Brandie Lekovic June 16, 2020

I was looking to be informed about what to expect during labour and birth and this course did not disappoint! My husband and I feel informed, equipped, and more ready to prepare for the big day to come.

Pre Natal – with Lilly Bianchi Jan. 23, 2021

This course exceeded my expectations. Even done through Zoom it was a very informative and welcoming environment. I feel much more prepared having taken this course. I highly recommend it.

Pre Natal – with Lilly Bianchi May 30, 2020

Erin and Lily are both very knowledgeable, resourceful, practical and pragmatic in all of their teaching and advice. We appreciated that their courses (Labour and Delivery and Bringing Home Baby) were offered through Zoom. We are thankful for their support before we welcome our baby.

Bringing Baby Home – with Erin Shaheen June 27, 2020

I enjoyed the fact that we were at home, it made my wife more comfortable to be able to use our own bathroom and have snacks on hand etc. It also allowed us to must ourselves during the discussion and make comments to each other privately when an issues or decision that we wanted to discuss came up.

Pre Natal – with Misty Pratt June 20, 2020

Was great to be in the comfort of your home. At 33 weeks much more convenient to be on your couch, have your own pillow and make yourself comfortable.

NICU Doula

Pregnancy and birth are almost always joyous times. However, sometimes we get news we might not have prepared for that changes our expectations and plans, and we find ourselves preparing for the arrival of or caring for a baby with extraordinary needs. If this is happening in your family, you might find it helpful to talk to someone about the specific challenges that can come with having a baby in the NICU and beyond. NICU Doula
