
Doula's
Doula is a Greek word meaning "woman who serves" Doulas are professionally trained to give emotional, physical, and informational support to women and their partners during their labour. In a 1991 study, Dr. Marshall Klaus and Dr. John Kennell showed that the presence of a doula reduced the c-section rate by 50%, use of epidural by 60%, length of labour by 25% and the use of oxytocin by 40%.
